Today, when our nation is plagued with Rohingya problem, in addition, the state system is very busy to appease these Rohingyas, it is important for us to know how our forefathers wiped out these Rohingyas for the sake of the country.
•√ Rasangamardan-Narayan Ray was the Commander-in-chief of Maharaja Dhanyamanikya (1490-1520 AD) of the Tripura kingdom in the south-east of Bengal. This infamous Bengali youth rose to the rank of commander of Tripura state with his own discretion and enthusiasm. Details about him are mentioned in the Tripura Rajamala.
Towards the end of the 15th century, a section of Rohingya bandits occupied Chattogram [Chittagong] region bordering the southern end of the port. In 1501 the Chattogram goddess Devi Chatteshwari ordered in a dream to Raja Dhanyamanikya to rescue Chittagong from these Mlechha Rohingyas and establish her temple in Tripura. Dreamed by the goddess, the king immediately ordered his most gallant commander Rasangamardan to attack Chittagong.

Rasangamardan reached Chittagong as soon as he got the royal instructions, ignoring the deep jungles and fierce wild animals. The Battle of Tripura army started with the Rohingyas when they went to rescue the goddess Chatteshwari statue at Sadarghat in Chittagong. The Tripura army under the able leadership of Commander Rasangamardan finally defeated the Rohingya bandits and most of them were sacrificed in front of Ma Chatteshwari. Then the victorious Rasangamardan returned to the Tripura capital with the goddess idol and was installed as Goddess Tripureshwari in the state. Chattogram came under the Hindu rule of Tripura kingdom and Rasanga-Mardan was appointed as the feudal chief of Chattogram.
