Now we are free from danger, but if we are diverted from action and spend time in blissful sleep, God will be incensed. We have to remove the sorrow of life through our own actions, the country has to be uplifted. "আমাদের এই পুণ্যভূমিকে পদানত করিবার নিন্দিত প্রচেষ্টায় যে বিদেশী বিধর্মী শত্রু হীন দস্যুবৃত্তি-অনুসরণে অভিযান করিয়াছিল, সে আজ কশাহত সারমেয়ের ন্যায় ক্ষুদ্র প্রাণটুকু সম্বল করিয়া পলায়ন করিয়াছে। এই যুদ্ধে তাহাকে দারুণ মূল্য দিতে হইয়াছে। আমার সুদক্ষ অনুসন্ধাতা চর-মুখে শুনিয়াছি এবং রণক্ষেত্রেও প্রত্যক্ষ প্রমাণ পাইয়াছি যে, আফগান-সর্দার তাহার সুনির্বাচিত অতিকুশলী যুদ্ধনায়কগণকে সঙ্গে লইয়া এই ঘৃণিত কার্যে অগ্রসর হইয়াছিল। যে ভূরিশ্রেষ্ঠপুরী দখলের উদ্দেশ্যে সেই দুর্দান্ত পাঠান সমর-বিরুদ্ধ অনিয়ম বাছিয়া লইয়াছিল, আমার পুত্রতুল্য সৈন্যদিগের সহিত সম্মুখ-সমরে তাহার বীর্যবহ্নি নির্বাণ-লাভ তো করিলই, উপরন্তু তাহার অধিকাংশ যোদ্ধাই চিরদিনের জন্য ভূতলশায়ী হইল। আমার বিশ্বাস, এই যুদ্ধের পর ভগ্নপ্রায় ওসমানখাঁ পুনরায় ভূরিশ্রেষ্ঠপুরীর বিরুদ্ধে মাথা তুলিবার সুযোগ পাইবে কি-না, সন্দেহ। আজিকে এই শিক্ষাই আমাদের গ্রহণ করিতে হইবে যে, অত্যুগ্র অন্যায়সেবী অমানুষ যখন এই বিশ্ব-নিয়মের সীমা লঙ্ঘন করে-তখনই বিশ্বনিয়ন্তার অব্যর্থ মহিমা প্রকাশিত হইয়া তাহাকে অবলুপ্ত করিয়া দেয়। আজ সেই বিশ্বেশ্বরের কৃপায় আমরা শত্রুর দুষ্ট আশা নিষ্ফল করিয়াছি, জয়-লাভ করিয়া দেশমাতৃকার সম্মান রক্ষা করিয়াছি। আমরা এখন বিপদ-মুক্ত, কিন্তু কর্ম-বিমুখ হইয়া নিশ্চিন্ত মনে সুখনিদ্রায় কালহরণ করিলে ভগবান্ রুষ্ট হইবেন। আপন আপন কর্ম-সাধন দ্বারা প্রাণধারণের গ্লানি দূর করিতে হইবে, দেশকে করিতে হইবে সমুন্নত। সকলে একপ্রাণ, একমন হও, সমান সংকল্প, সমান মন্ত্র গ্রহণ করিয়া সম্মিলিত হও, তোমাদের লক্ষ্য সমান হউক্, দেখিবে, বাঙ্গালীগণের বল-বুদ্ধি, কর্মশক্তি ও গৌরবের নিকট সর্বজাতি সর্বদেশ সসম্ভ্রমে শির অবনত করিবে। বন্দেহরবিন্দশ্রিয়ম্ ।"
